I have heard some people describe a good politician as one who has a manifesto on one hand and an excuse on the other. Under a democracy, a government said to be of the people by the people and for the people, it expected that the people factor is placed paramount at all times, it also goes that all promises made must be kept.

In 2015, during the Nigerian presidential, states and national assembly electioneering process, several promises were made to the people while the politicians then were seeking their mandate, almost one year down the line, not much has been done as it relates to delivering the much promised and desired dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people as pledged by politicians across all the political divides in the country. As the saying goes, a promise is debt must be paid.

The elections, haven’t been won and lost, one expects that all promises made to the electorates must as a matter of urgency be made good in the interest of peace, growth and stability of our dear nation Nigeria.

All hands must be on deck to make sure that the story changes from ALL PROMESES COUNCELED to EVERY STEP OF THE WAY MORE PROMISES KEPT.

Remember the words of the hero of this democratic dispensation, Late Basorun Moshood Kasimawo Olawale Abiola, ” The wealth of Nigeria If Properly Channeled Is Enough For Everyone’s NEED But Not Enough For Everyone’s GREED”

An African proverb also says ”When a child is crying and pointing his finger at a particular direction, his mother must look closely at that direction”

Let’s not wait for the SHIT TO HIT THE FAN…
