British Open Predictions 2016: Top 10 Picks for Royal Troon

It’s no longer a “Big 3” in golf. Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy have long hailed as the cream of the crop on the PGA TOUR, but it’s time to include Dustin Johnson’s name in that group. The 32-year-old has always had the physical tools to be a star, capable of piping drives 325 yards down the middle of the fairway with consistency, and he’s won on TOUR every year since 2008. However, because of his immense potential, fans have always wanted more–they’ve wanted him to go from great player to ruthlessly dominant superstar. Well, he’s finally hit that point. In DJ’s last eight tournaments, he has finished third, fourth, 28th, 12th, third, fifth, first and first, with the victories at the U.S. Open and WGC-Bridgestone vaulting him to No. 2 in the world. Now, with the major championship monkey off his back, he heads to The Open Championship at Royal Troon looking to join Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and McIlroy as the only players since 2000 to win three tournaments in a row.
