One day after naming Mike Pence as his running mate, Donald Trump will be appearing with the Indiana governor on Saturday for a news conference.
Trump’s event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 16th at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time from New York City. It can be viewed in the embedded YouTube player via Right Side Broadcasting.
This was originally scheduled to occur on Friday morning, but Trump delayed the VP announcement following the attack in Nice, France. He instead took to Twitter on Friday to announce Mike Pence as his running mate, something that had already been widely reported in the media.
I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.

The choice of Mike Pence is seen as an appeal to the Ted Cruz wing of the Republican party, those conservatives who feel that Trump is not a true Republican. After all, Governor Pence supported Ted Cruz in the Indiana primary, although he only said he would be personally be voting for Cruz and declined to offer an official endorsement.
Pence is also quite conservative on social issues like same-sex marriage, whereas Donald Trump has been criticized for those on the right for not being conservative enough when it comes to marriage, abortion, and other similar positions.
During the last few days of the VP race, it essentially came down to three names: Mike Pence, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. All three men had spoken with Trump in the days leading up to the announcement, and Trump was reportedly leaning towards Christie, but his advisers felt that Pence would be the better option.
However, according to CNN, Trump was unsure about Pence as recently as Thursday night, hours before the announcement, calling his aides at midnight asking if he could get out of picking the Indiana governor.
