The day before the Democratic National Convention started, thousands gathered to march through the streets of Philadelphia and across the country in support of Bernie Sanders’ campaign for president. His supporters gained renewed fervor and passion following a huge WikiLeaks release that revealed members of the DNC were actively working to hurt Bernie’s campaign during the primaries, and many DNC staffers had an attitude of contempt for Sanders and his followers. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said she would resign when the convention was over, but Hillary Clinton quickly chimed with a statement showing her gratitude to Debbie and offering Debbie a position of honorary chair over a movement seeking to promote Democratic candidates in all 50 states. Supporters are hoping that when Bernie Sanders speaks on Monday, he will have a significant message for them. But even if he continues to endorse Clinton, many of his supporters are now firmly in the #NeverHillary camp and are preparing for a big #DemExit. Click through the galleries to see photos and stories from the March for Bernie movement across the country, along with other groups who protested for Bernie in Philadelphia.
