The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee, (NULGE) Edo state chapter on Wednesday embarked on a protest against the non-payment of their salary arrears in Benin City, Edo State.
The protesters comprising employees from 18 local government councils of the state commenced their protest from Five junction through Ring road before making their way to Sapele road.
The protest march is said to have grounded commercial activities and traffic as they carried various placards, lamenting the failure of the local government authorities to pay their outstanding salaries ranging from two to 18 months.
