Emma Coburn, steeplechase, track and field, Olympics
With track and field at the Olympics underway, we’ve got plenty of events to look forward to today, many of which will be starting early. A block of these will begin airing at 8:30 am EST today. Those events can easily be live streamed here for anyone who has the means to watch NBC Sports. One event that is sure to be particularly fun to watch should be the 3000m steeplechase. For the women, the first round is this morning, and the US has sent Emma Coburn as their representative, in the hopes of taking home the gold for America. Coburn, though young, is an experienced Olympic runner, having been in London and competed in the 2012 Olympics. She is a premiere middle-distance runner, and once again the best the US will be offering. Having made it quite far in those Olympics, and having improved since then, the pressure is on tremendously for Coburn. We’ll see today just how she does in her second Olympics. (Getty)
