McGregor-Diaz UFC 202 Fight Preview
It’s the rematch everyone has been waiting for.
And now the wait is over.
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz lock up once again Saturday night in the UFC 202 main event from Las Vegas, Nevada.
McGregor, the circuit’s Featherweight champion, will face Diaz (19-10-0) in a Welterweight fight five months after their first showdown.
The two met in UFC 196 in March and Diaz dropped jaws throughout the MMA world by pulling off the shocking upset as a major underdog, locking McGregor into a rear naked choke in the second round. The Irishman added weight for the first bout and it showed as he struggled to adjust. In that fight “The Notorious One” came in as a heavy favorite.
McGregor (19-3-0) is favored once again this time around. And once again, the fight will take place at 170 pounds. The Featherweight champ, though, isn’t as highly favored for Saturday night. He comes in at a -125 betting favorite (bet $125 to win $100) at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Neither Diaz nor McGregor have fought since their last battle. But judging by yesterday’s weigh-in, both fighters seem ready to go — at one point they had to be separated by UFC President Dana White. Check it out below via @UFC on Twitter:
The UFC 202 Main Card gets started at 10 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. There are four other fights before McGregor-Diaz 2. They are: Tim Means vs. Sabah Homasi; Hyun Gyu Lim vs. Mike Perry; Rick Story vs. Donald Cerrone; and Anthony Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira.
