The Youth Wing of the People Democratic Party, PDP, has on Saturday, August 27, exposed the illicit activities of one of its Chieftain, who has been working for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in order the destroy the PDP.
The youths, under the auspices of the PDP Youths Congress, PDPYC, disclosed that the Senator Representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu, had been working secretly for the APC, prior to the 2015 Presidential Election, which led to the downfall of the party at the centre.
The Youths decried that in a bid to earn more contract from the APC, Kashamu had spent over N100 million on media publications against fellow party members, while he has not published even a one-paragraph article against the APC-led Federal Government.
Challenging Kashamu to be bold enough to declare openly for the APC, and stop pretending to be a member of the PDP, the Youths added that Kashamu should rather decamp to the APC formally.
In a statement made available to Post-Nigeria, the PDPYC Convener, Oluwole Durojaiye, said it should be clear to all lovers of the PDP, especially in the South-West, that Kashamu was an agent of the APC, and was ready to do everything to destroy the PDP.
It noted that Kashamu was already acting as the mouthpiece of the APC, and would be a better replacement for Lai Mohammed, who was the then APC National Publicity Secretary, since he has taken over the job of defending every undemocratic act of the Federal Government, even far better than the two presidential spokespersons.
Also, the Youths alleged that over N2 billion must have been spent by the Senator to procure court orders against the PDP.
Giving a narrative of events where Kashamu disguised himself as a mole, the PDP youths said the problems that led to the party’s loss of power, started from when Kashamu manipulated the courts to remove Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Bode Mustapha and Chief Segun Oni, as the party’s National Secretary, National Auditor and National Vice Chairman (Southwest) respectively.
The youths decried that, while Kashamu was busy sponsoring the entire move, he was however, rewarded with juicy contracts from the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, of which one of such, was the supply of vehicles to the Ogun State House of Assembly.
They lamented that the consequences of his action had caused a crack on the wall in the South-West zone, which eventually degenerated, leading to fall of former President, Goodluck Jonathan at the poll.
The youths concluded, by raising an alarm that the same way Kashamu was used to destroy the PDP then, it is the same way he is presently been used by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, to do same.
