Zimbabweans stormed the venue of the International Monetary Fund/World Bank meetings in Washington DC on Saturday to demand that a loan supposedly being sought by the government of President Robert Mugabe be rejected while one of Africa’s longest serving dictators is forced to step aside.
Mr. Mugabe, 92, who has been in power for 36 years has seen his country plunged into its worst economic crisis since independence.
The protesters said they were tired of gargantuan corruption in Zimbabwe and injustices in the country and called on the international community not to give the dictator money for a supposed bailout.

The economy of Zimbabwe crashed in the year 2000, leaving at least 95 percent of residents unemployed with a currency turned virtually worthless. Millions are going to bed hungry while Mr. Mugabe has refused to go.
