TactiBite, a fish call that sends out sounds and vibrations to attract fish, entered the Shark Tank in Season 8 and landed a deal with Robert.
As their episode reairs on December 16, we caught up with owner Jeff Danos, who runs the business with his son, Jack, to see how their business has grown since the Tank. “Sales since the original airing have been huge. The first weekend of airing was crazy, as well as the following weeks,” he explained. “It slowed down a bit about three weeks after airing, but then came Black Friday and Cyber Monday and it was crazy again. We’re now starting to experience the holiday rush, and sales have been great.”

Getting Multiple Offers

It’s funny because we prepared for literally every possible scenario. We had answers for anything they could’ve asked us and then all of the follow-up questions after that. The only thing that we didn’t ever discuss was who we would go with if we got the same offer from multiple people! We were so focused on getting to the point where we got offers that we didn’t think about what we’d do if we got multiple!
Choosing Robert Over Lori

We decided to go with Robert because we liked that he didn’t try to cut down our valuation at all. He was straight up with us, and we respected that and felt like it would be a good partnership. I know a lot of people think we’re crazy for not going with Lori, but she tried to cut down our valuation and then didn’t accept our counteroffer, so when Robert offered exactly what we were asking for, we couldn’t refuse.
Advice for Future ‘Tank’ Contestants

The biggest thing with the show is that you have to be confident in yourself and your ability to answer any question that they throw at you, even if it’s one that you didn’t prepare for. You also need to be ready for five questions at the same time, because it’s actually like that! They’re talking over each other and you have to make sure to answer all of their questions and not offend anyone by forgetting about their question when the other Sharks interrupt them and completely change the subject. Having a second person in there that can answer one question while you answer another makes it a lot easier, assuming you can depend on that person.
