The history of games between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers goes back over five decades now, featuring regular season and playoff contests that entertained football fans thoroughly.
On Sunday another chapter will be written in this story, as Dallas hosts Green Bay in a divisional playoff game, with the winner advancing to face the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game.
As far as regular season contests go, the Packers own a slight 14-13 advantage. In terms of regular season contests in which Dallas was the home team, as it will be on Sunday, the Cowboys hold a narrow 7-5 lead in that series.
Here’s a list of all the regular season contests between the two teams, with the home team in each game listed second.

That’s the regular season, however. Sunday’s game is a postseason affair, and as NFL history has shown time and time again, the regular season doesn’t matter when it’s playoff time.
Sunday will be the eighth time that the Cowboys and Green Bay will have met up in the postseason. Dallas has a 5-2 edge in this series, and has only lost one of the five home games played in the series.
Here’s a list of all the postseason contests between the two teams, with the home team in each game listed second.
Playoff Scores
January 11, 2015: Cowboys 21, Packers 26
January 14, 1996: Packers 27, Cowboys 38
January 8, 1995: Packers 9, Cowboys 35
January 16, 1994: Packers 17, Cowboys 27
January 16, 1983: Packers 26, Cowboys 37
December 31, 1967: Cowboys 17, Packers 21
January 1, 1967: Packers 34, Cowboys 27
With postseason and regular season games combined, the Cowboys have the head-to-head lead 18-16, and have won 11 out of 17 games played in Dallas. A win today by the Packers would not only bring the overall series close to even, but start to dissipate the advantage that Dallas has enjoyed on its home field as well.
Julio Jones Injury Status Update
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones left his team’s divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks with a foot injury and was listed as questionable to return to the game.
