Ben Roethlisberger took the Steelers as far as he could this season, and it might be the last time we see Big Ben in action.

On Tuesday, Roethlisberger did not commit to returning next season for what would be his 14th professional season. Roethlisberger told Pittsburgh’s 93.7 The Fan that he will weigh all of his options and then decide on returning. Roethlisberger turns 35 in March.

For his size, Roethlisberger has taken a beating over his career. He’s started all 16 regular season games only twice since 2008, and was forced to miss two games this season with a knee injury. He finished the season with 3,819 passing yards, his lowest total since 2012.

Roethlisberger leaving would devastate the Steelers offense. He is currently surrounded by some of the NFL’s best skill players, including Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell.

On a personal note, Roethlisberger’s third child, Bodie, was born in May 2016. His other two children were born in 2012 and 2014.

If Roethlisberger hangs it up, the starting job now falls to Landry Jones. Jones has started four games (2-2) since being drafted by the Steelers in 2013.
