Mr. Buhari extended his leave on February 5 indefinitely and has indicated that he may not return to Nigeria anytime soon. He was advised by his doctors to complete some tests, he had said.
Media reports had said Mr. Buhari may remain in the United Kingdom for at least six months, with several newspapers saying he may not be able to lead Nigeria again.
On Wednesday, the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, admitted that he had not spoken directly with him but the people with the President have reassured him that he is well. Mr. Adesina told Channels TV’s Sunrise programme that he trusts the people he speaks with. He had neither seen the President nor spoken with him directly since he left. He had not been to London either.

Nigerians had asked to hear directly from their leader but Mr. Buhari has refused to do so.
