It was shocking, as the Minister of Defence; Mansur Dan-Ali, declared that the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, has proven to be more competent in handling the pipelines bombings in the Niger Delta Region.
Dan-Ali said this on Monday evening, after he and some Security Chiefs met with the Acting President, at the Presidential Villa, in Abuja.
Recall, that Osinbajo had taken the bull by the horn, by visiting the Niger Delta region and meeting with stakeholders, in finding lasting solutions to the pipelines bombings that had affected oil production nationwide.
Osinbajo’s move, came when President Muhammadu was unable to stop the bombings, despite deploying military might in the troubled region.
Speaking with State House Correspondents on his way out of the Villa, Dan-Ali stated that issues around maritime surveillance, were discussed.
“It’s a pending issue of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, that we wanted to resolve on maritime surveillance, and it has been resolved”, he said.
“The Acting President has been meeting with the communities. We have been able to save many communities of oil pipelines bombings, and oil theft.
“It is a big achievement, and I believe that the Acting President has been doing well in that direction.”
The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Gabriel Olonishakin; and the Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi; attended the meeting, which lasted for two hours.
