“A member of Nigerian Bar Association Professional Regulatory
Reform Committee and the Chairman of the Sub Committee on the
Future of the Legal Profession in Nigeria, Prof Ernest Ojukwu, SAN
has noted the difficulties currently being faced by Young Lawyers
desirous of attending the forthcoming Annual General Conference
(AGC) of the Nigerian Bar Association scheduled for August 2017 in
Lagos.

Prof. Ojukwu popularly addressed as Teacher, who has served in
the past as Director, NBA Institute of Continuing Legal Education
appreciates the importance of attending NBA Conferences as a
requirement of fulfilling the requisite mandatory continuing legal
education points in any given year, as provided for under the Rules
of Professional Conduct of the legal profession in Nigeria.

Teacher also understands the eagerness of Lawyers particularly
the Young Lawyers to attend this year’s AGC in view of the
wonderful package planned by the Prof. Konyisola Ajayi led
Conference Planning Committee and therefore calls on the Planning
Committee to resolve the outstanding issues in the interest of the
future of the legal profession in Nigeria.

In the meantime, Prof Ojukwu solicits the understanding and
support of all Lawyers for the work of the Planning Committee and
looks forward to a wonderful AGC in August.”
