A Nigerian journalist has been shot dead. Lawrence Okojie, who worked for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), was killed on Saturday night in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
Reports said Okojie was killed around Ogunola Junction, off Siluko Road, in Benin.
Spokesman of the state police command, Moses Nkombe, was quoted as saying that a suspect was in custody.
The reporter was killed shortly after he was dropped off by NTA staff bus at Ogunola Junction around 8pm on Saturday, a report said.
