Here are the top 10 tips/tricks you need to know for Fable Fortune (Early Access).
1. Learn the Basics

• In the current Early Access versions of Fable Fortune, there is no tutorial available. If you are familiar with other collectible card games (CCGs) then you will have no problems getting up to speed with this game however, especially with this handy cheat sheet:
1 – Your Hand
2 – Your Hero
3 – Your Hero Power
4 – Your Guard Button
5 – Your Gold Chest
6 – Your Quest
7 – The Board
8 – A Unit
9 – Your Opponent
10 – Your Deck
11 – End Turn
If you are completely new to CCGs then some of this might be a little confusing, but there is an in-depth description of each of these elements available here.
2. Play as Each Hero Once

• It’s normally a good idea to play as each character at least once in any game, but with Fable Fortune you’ll find an extra incentive to do this. Not only will you be learning the basic powers and cards available to that class, but you’ll also be unlocking a stack of rewards as you explore. The first match you complete in PvP or Co-op with each Hero will earn you two packs of cards and two copies of a new class-specific card. That’s 12 packs of cards earned in just six games, regardless whether you win or lose.
3. Pay Attention to the Quests

• When you get stuck into your first few games, pay close attention to the first screen that pops up. This will be your Quest selection screen and it just might be the most important decision you make in a match. These Quests will challenge you to complete specific tasks such as “Spend 18 Gold” or “Summon a Unit that costs six Gold or more,” so make sure you pick one you think you can achieve quickly. When you complete this Quest, not only are you going to earn a special reward card, but you’ll also level up your Hero by picking a “Good” or “Evil” outcome for the Quest. This choice will alter your Hero power and even influence some of the cards in your hand, giving you an opportunity to tweak your tactics based on what is happening in the match.
4. Know When to Guard

• Do you see that button with the shield symbol on it? Well, that just might save your life…in the game at least. In Fable Fortune, you can spend one gold to place any unit into Guard for one turn. Your opponent will be forced to attack this unit before attacking anything else, enabling you to protect a more valuable unit…or your face. Some units even have special abilities that trigger when they are placed into Guard, but don’t feel like you must Guard every turn. Sometimes it’s better to leave your opponent to decide what to attack, especially if you only have one unit on the board.
5. Don’t Forfeit

• If you are a regular CCG player you are probably used to forfeiting matches that are not going your way, but in Fable Fortune you might want stick around until the very end. In the PvP league you will earn medals after every match; one for a loss and three for a win. This means you’re always progressing to the next reward, but you won’t get anything if you forfeit the match. In all game modes, you’ll also be forfeiting the Hero XP and Silver if you bow out early.
