The Federal Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
has awarded two serving Permanent Secretaries with Ambassadorial
Title (In-SiTu). Ambassadorial Title-insitu is usually awarded to
individuals deemed fit by government as the highest diplomatic
rank, and such title holders are sent to other countries as long
term representative.

In an Official statement issued and signed by Assistant
Director, Press, Mohammed Nakorji, from the Office of Secretary to
the Government of Federation, said that the Minister of Foreign
Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyema, awarded the title to Aminu
Nabegu and Olukunle Bamgbose
, who are both Permanent
Secretaries in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the
Federation.

According to the statement, the award came to the two Permanent
Secretaries as a meritorious reward for painstaking sacrifices they
have made in course of their long service to the country.

It also qouted the Minister who said “the two Permanent
Secretaries have spent over three decades in the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs before their appointment as Permanent Secretaries”
It went further to state that the Minister has charged the awardees
to live up to expectation in protecting the integrity of the
title.

“He charged them to exhibit high sense of responsibilities
associated with the title and congratulated them on their
well-deserved title of In-Situ.”
