The Lagos State Government has urged officials of the Citizens
Mediation Centre to be more dedicated to resolving conflicts among
residents of the state.

The Chairman of the CMC Governing Council, Justice Oluyemi
Gbajabiamila (retd.), gave the advice during a familiarisation tour
of all the CMC units across the state, a statement said on
Tuesday.

Gbajabiamila, who led members of the governing council, stated
that the visit was to enable the council members to get first-hand
information about the challenges being faced by the officials and
make recommendations to the appropriate quarters for solutions.

“Justice Gbajabiamila commended the officers at the various
units visited for their dedication to work in rendering service to
residents of Lagos State and admonished them to put in more efforts
as Lagos cannot settle for less in optimal service delivery,” the
statement added.

During a visit to one of the centre’s units in the Alimosho
Local Government Area, the council Chairman, Jelili Sulaimon, said
services rendered by the CMC had brought succor to residents of the
state, especially those at the grass roots.

He said, “It was due to the magnitude of work done by the centre
that the local government thought it wise to give a parcel of land
to the centre for a befitting office structure.”

Other units visited by the governing council reportedly included
CMC offices at Agege, Ikotun, Iba, and Ojo.
