IMSU student reportedly commits suicide after stabbing boyfriend

A 300 level student of Computer Science, Imo State University,
Owerri, Jennifer Agomuo, has allegedly committed suicide after
stabbing her boyfriend simply identified as Johnson.

Sources said the duo were always together on the campus and at
social gatherings before Jennifer started suspecting her boyfriend
of cheating on her.

TheNigerialawyer learnt that the incident occurred in a hostel
at Aladinma Alliance area of the university on Wednesday night.

A source said the female undergraduate poisoned herself after
stabbing her boyfriend, who she thought was dead.

The source said: “A student in our school has committed suicide.
She was studying Computer Science and was supposed to graduate next
year. She was in third year.

“She poisoned herself after stabbing her boyfriend. She thought
that she had killed her boyfriend and out of fear, she ran to her
hostel and drank poison.

“Her boyfriend, who was taken to the Federal Medical Centre,
Owerri, did not die. He is recuperating.”

Confirming the incident, the university spokesman, Obi Njoku,
said the school was in a state of shock and confusion over the “sad
and irritating news.”
