The Federal Government says it is set to launch a massive media
campaign to support the military in the fight against
insurgency.
The minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said this
at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday.
The insurgency in Nigeria in the North Eastern part of the
country has again reached boiling point and has sparked up national
and global concern.
In recent times, Boko Haram has launched series of attacks
specifically targeted at military formations in the North East
which have refuted claims that the sect has been successfully
degraded. But the Federal Government is confident that the military
has the capacity to keep the nation secure, despite setbacks
recorded in recent times.
It is set to launch a media campaign to support the military in
the fight against insurgency.
The army has also launched operation python dance as part of
efforts to ensure security for the 2019 general election.
The Government is appealing to the Media to exercise restraint
when reporting the insurgency in the North East,so as not to
demoralize the military and strengthen the morale of the
insurgents.
