Leadership 2018: Dangote bags Africa’s greatest giver

The President C/E Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has won ‘the
Philanthropic Person of the Year 2018 Award’ by the Leadership
Newspapers.
The Newspaper said it recognises Aliko Dangote as Africa’s
Greatest Giver and merits the Award.
“His heart and his generosity are as expanse as the size of a
vault”.
In his response, Africa’s richest man, Aliko said that giving
back to the Society gives him a sense of purpose in life.
Represented by GED of the Group, Engr.Mansur Ahmed, the foremost
Business Tycoon said giving back to the Society helps him
contribute to the common good.
He maintained that the gesture is also in line with his
Conglomerate’s vision to improving the lot of the people.
Through his diversified businesses he has used his wealth to
impact positively on humanity in general and the less-privileged in
particular.
Aliko, is a proud recipient of numerous laurels both within and
outside the Country in recognition of his achievements, and
philanthropy-‘the most admired African brand’, ‘African Business
man of the Year’, ‘the most Influential African,’ ‘Forbes Africa
Person of the Year amongst others.
Chairman, Leadership Group, Sam-Nda Isaiah said in recognition
of the giant strides, and Aliko’s unprecedented good works for the
year 2018, the Leadership Group had tagged him “Philanthropic
Aliko” .The Publisher said the Awards are presented to people who
have distinguished themselves more than their peers in the same
category and pledged to maintain the paper’s integrity and high
standard of choice of Awardees.
The theme of the high- impact Leadership Conference,
“Multi-Party Democracy, Stability and Peaceful Election: Connecting
the Dots”, focused on suggestions for free, fair, credible and
peaceful elections next week.
It also gave suggestions on the way politicans should conduct
themselves, and the constitutional threshold for conducting the
elections by INEC.
The event was graced by royal fathers- the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji
Yahaya Abubakar Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Oba
Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi of Akure Kingdom, Elder Statesman,
Alhaji Ahmed Joda, Justice Sylvanus Nsofor, Ministers and
representaives of Governors, agencies and organisations.
In their good will messages, they called on government,
traditional rulers and Nigerians to shun violence, corrupt
practices and greed and only strive for unity of Nigeria.
