The General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr.
Jonathan Taidi Gunu, has written to NBA Ikorodu Branch Chairman
Bayo Akinlade asking him to confirm or state otherwise if the
branch held an election into the office of the Vice Chairman on
Friday, being, 15th March 2019
In a letter dated 17th March, sighted by TheNigerialawyer(TNL),
Chairman Bayo Akinlade has been given 48 hours to state if indeed
there was such an election, and if there was he should explain in
his reply why he thought it fit to so brazenly defy the directive
in the letter earlier sent to him not to conduct the said election
without even the courtesy of a written notification to the General
Secretary.
During the weekend, the social media was awash with information
that there was an election conducted in Ikorodu Branch on Friday,
15th March 2019 where new Vice- Chairman was elected.
Recall that TNL had earlier on made a publication based on the
petition sent to Ikorodun Chairman by the NBA General Secretary
asking him to Halt conducting election into the office of the
Vice-Chairman of the branch after the incumbent Vice-Chairman,
Ekeziel Ogbaide, sent a petition to the office of GS.
