In Suit No. FHC/ABJ/ 925/2018 between Olumide Babalola and Chief
Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the Plaintiff approached
the court to determine whether the year of call would be reckoned
with, in computing a legal practitioner’s post-call years.
Delivering the judgement today, 2nd April 2019, Hon Justice F.O.
Giwa-Ogunbanjo sitting in Abuja held that a legal practitioner’s
year of call starts counting from the year the first practicing
fees are paid and in so counting, the year of call must be
counted.
