12: 20pm: Chairman of the code of conduct tribunal arrives,
tribunal set to deliver judgment.

12: 30 pm: Tribunal upholds its Jurisdiction, stating that the
defendant is not being charged as a judicial officer but as a
public officer.

Chairman of the tribunal held that the constitutional powers of
the Code of Conduct Bureau shall not be subject to any body of the
NJC.

12: 50pm: Tribunal held that the Chairman can not recuse himself
from the trial, as its finds him competent. Tribunal also held that
all judges of courts of superior records are appointed by the
President, that does not mean that they are under the
president.

The CCT has dismissed the preliminary objection filed by Justice
Onnoghen to challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal.

The CCT has also dismissed the application by the former CJN
accusing the tribunal chairman, Danladi Umar, to withdraw from
further presiding over the trial on the grounds of bias.

The tribunal is now delivering judgment on the merit of the five
counts.

Tactical Police Team Deployed to Nasarawa over
Killing

Against the backdrop of the shootings on 14th April, 2019 in
Numa Kochu village, Nasarawa State which resulted in the injury to
and death of innocent persons, the Inspector General Police Ag. IGP
M.A. Adamu, NPM, mni has ordered for the immediate deployment of
combined units of intervention squads to provide additional support
to the existing operatives in the State. The IGP has further
directed the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State to identify and
fish out all persons connected to the dastardly killings.

The combined tactical teams comprising the Police Mobile Force
(PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Explosive Ordinance Department
(EOD), IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Force Intelligence
Bureau (FIB) and Specialized Investigators from the Force Criminal
Investigation Department (FCID) have been mandated to provide
support to the existing security architecture in the State to
prevent further attacks and carry out discrete investigation into
the killings.

While restating the commitment of the Force to uncover and bring
the perpetrators of the killing to justice, the IGP implores any
