As we know, Prince Harry has settled down with his bride-to-be Meghan Markle, but this royal used to have bit of a wild side to him. Once upon a time, before he swept the American actress off her feet, Harry was pretty much the bad boy of the famous British family. Now, we’re digging into his wild past.
From naked nights in Las Vegas to offensive costumes, here’s a look back at the prince’s party boy days before he met Markle.
Ellie Goulding On His Mind… At Least For a Little While
One of Prince Harry’s most recent rumored flings was with pop singer Ellie Goulding, who befriended the royal beginning in 2014 and was asked to perform at his 30th birthday celebration. As late as May 2016, the two had reportedly been seen flirting and exchanging multiple lip locks at the Audi Polo Challenge in Berkshire, England.

Chelsy Davy: Longtime On and Off-Again Girlfriend
The Prince first met Zimbabwe-born Chelsy Davy in 2004 and it’s reported the couple had a turbulent relationship, being on and off again until 2011. Despite the ups and downs, the two were tabloid fodder, with much gossip and speculation about whether and when they would tie the knot. Davy admitted she found the media frenzy disturbing and stated in 2011 that a marriage to Prince Harry would never transpire. “It’s not a life for me,” she asserted.

When Harry was a teenager, he admitted to experimenting with marijuana, and his father sent him to arehabilitation center.
In 2002, an official at St. James’s Palace confirmed that when Prince Charles became aware that his son had smoked weed multiple times, he sent Harry to the Featherstone Lodge rehab.
We acknowledge that on several occasions last summer, Prince Harry experimented with cannabis. It is not that he had or has a serious problem, but he did take the drug. Prince Harry did attend Featherstone Lodge for a day to learn about the possible consequences of starting to take cannabis. The Prince of Wales thought it would be educational and shocking for him [Harry] to attend.
The statement concluded by saying that the royal family believed this was a “serious matter,” which was handled and would comment no further on.
He was accused of cheating in school

One time, Harry was accused of having an instructor do his work for him in school. In 2004, accusations were brought forth by one of Harry’s former teachers, who claimed she helped the royal cheat.
Sarah Forsyth alleged that she did most of the work on an art project, which Harry used for his admission into another prestigious school. However, the palace denied the allegations, and they were never proven.
Forsyth did get a courtroom victory though when she sued the school for unfairly terminating her.
Harry got into an altercation with a photographer

Then, there was the time when things got physical with Harry and a photographer. Even before the death of Princess Diana, the royals have always had a complicated relationship with the paparazzi, so it was just a matter of time before those tensions boiled over.
In 2004, the prince was walking out of a nightclub when he was allegedly hit in the face with a camera. When he pushed it away, the device hit the photographer in the mouth, cutting his lip.
The paparazzo, however, had a different story. He claimed that Harry aggressively and purposely went after him and, as he pushed the camera into his face, was yelling, “‘Why are you doing this? Why don’t you just leave me alone?’”
The photographer did not file a complaint.

Another time where he clearly wasn’t thinking when he chose his attire for a certain party. In 2005, for reasons we’ll never understand, the prince thought it was OK to wear a swastika armband and a uniform resembling that of the Afrika Korps army to the get-together with friends. Someone at the party snapped a picture of the royal, and soon, the image of Harry in Nazi garb was slapped all over news publications.
He then issued a public apology stating, “I am very sorry if I caused any offense or embarrassment to anyone. It was a poor choice of costume and I apologize.”
Prince was heard using racial slurs

Oh, and there was also the time when we heard him on tape using racial slurs. The infamous video clip from 2006 was released in 2009, and on it, Harry can be heard calling one of his fellow soldiers a “Paki” and another a “raghead.”
Apparently, the prince thought the names were just a joke between his pals. but once the recordings were made public, no one was laughing and he drew a ton of criticism. Another apology was then quickl

He let loose in Croatia

Back in the day, Harry surely lived up to his party-boy reputation in Croatia. The prince and his friends took a trip to the island of Hvar in 2011, and he was spotted in a club boozing it up, falling into a pool fully clothed, and dancing around while drenched in someone else’s clothes.
Yep, Harry certainly knew how to party.
He orchestrated naked game night in Vegas

Finally, he let it all hang out in Sin City. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas — unless of course you’re a member of the British royal family.
While in Las Vegas in 2012, Harry hosted a game of strip billiards in his VIP hotel suite and surprise, surprise, someone had a camera and shot a pic of the prince in the buff. Once the photos got out, no one at the palace was happy about it, and he had to fess up to both his father, Charles, and his grandmother, the queen, about the incident. The family then ordered a media blackout of the naked pics.
Luckily, Harry has really grown up since then, and we hope he and Markle live, well, happily ever after.

It’s time to sweep away the notion that Harry and Meghan would go with tradition after choosing an unusual name for Baby Sussex. Now named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, we have the unique moniker many thought they’d go for to declare their own independence from the royals. Even if they’ll never escape their royal designation, Archie Harrison’s name is also decidedly more British than Americans thought it would be.
Rumors had percolated about the couple maybe creating a hybrid America-British name. Instead, they picked a first name that might raise a few eyebrows in America. Nevertheless, Archie and Harrison have become more popular British names in recent years.
Take a look at what this might mean for how people view the future Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor.
Did you know the name Archie has risen in popularity over in the U.K.?
Not many would name their child Archie in America, or at least at one time. Today, Archie has dropped off considerably as a popular name here in the states. However, in Britain, it’s risen to No. 18 in popularity recently.
If you need a reason behind the dichotomy, Americans may still associate the name with a fictional bigot. Any of you old enough to remember when the classic CBS sitcom All in the Family aired here from 1971-83 will remember the lead character Archie Bunker.
While Archie was supposed to be satire, he controversially became a “lovable bigot” during the show’s run. The character’s racist flame was tamed somewhat as he grew older, yet many people probably thought of Archie Bunker when thinking of his first name.
Then again, Archie also has a positive connotation from American pop culture.
The Archie Comics have been popular for decades
Most Millennials will think of The CW series Riverdale when seeing the name Archie. The comic book series of Archie has been going since 1941, so it’s possible Harry and Meghan were thinking along those lines.
Since the Archie character from the comic books and the TV series descended from Scotland, we can assume the royal couple was looking at this character as the true cross-inspiration between America and the U.K. After all, the fictional Archie has even been known to wear a kilt as a tribute to his Scottish grandparents.
On the other end of things, Archie from Riverdale is also a typical teenager, something Harry and Meghan no doubt want their child to experience growing up in an intense media storm.
Harrison is a perfectly distinguished name
Sure, a lot of people will automatically equate the name Harrison with Harrison Ford. Let’s also remember it’s a variation on Harry’s own name. Even though we don’t see enough Harrisons in America, the name has risen to No. 32 in the U.K. Also keep in mind “Harry” is currently No. 2 there, which is essentially the same name (no doubt due to Prince Harry’s popularity).
All told, choosing Harrison was a smart compromise and one maybe some would wish was the first name of Baby Sussex over Archie. As for Harrison, social media denizens note the cleverness of the name being a variation on “Harry’s son.”
How will the name resonate in the future?

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is a mouthful to say, but it may end up being the most written about royal name in recent memory. The chances are small he’d ever become king. It may not matter since he may become one of the most popular (if also hounded) notables as he grows up as the first mixed-race royal.
We’ll
see what happens if he chooses to spend more time in America rather than Britain as he likely helps change royal protocol, assuming the queen doesn’t live to 150 years old.
He may also help the name Archie rise in popularity in American names again as the royals have been known to set trends.
