Sallah: Shun Drug,

Sallah: Shun Drug, Acquire Education—Dan Amanan Minna
Tells Youths

There is no way the youths will achieve success in life or
accomplish their career dreams if they continue to abuse hard drugs
and other dangerous substances which affects their physical,
emotional and mental well-being.

This was the position of Alhaji Danjuma Mani, a popular Niger
State-born philanthropist, when he hosted some youths who paid him
a courtesy Sallah (Eid-il-Fitr) celebration visit, at his residence
in Minna.

Alh. Mani, while stressing the importance of quality education,
told the youths delegation who visited him that the high rate of
illiteracy in the North is one reason why the region is backward in
every strata of life.

He said the problems affecting the socio-economic growth of the
state, and the country, at large, will only be eradicated by the
time youths deploy their God-given, innovative and unique talents
into productive ventures.

“Our youths and talented youngsters must realize that they are
greatly talented. They have the sheer power and numerical strength
to effect a lasting societal change. Therefore, they should think
out of the box in order to proffer terrific solutions to the
myriads of challenges affecting our dear State and beloved country.
Our youths, especially my fellow sons and brothers in Niger State,
must strive to acquire sound and quality education for their own
personal development,” he added.

Alh. Mani, who was recently bestowed with the traditional title
of ‘Dan Amanan Minna’ which translate to mean ‘The Trusted Son of
Minna’ emirate in English, by the Emir of Minna, Alh. Umar Faruq
Bahago, cautioned the youths from engaging in anti-social vices
that may negatively affect their lives and also dent their personal
integrity.

“My appeal to youths on this special occasion of Eid-il-Fitr
celebration is for them to champion the cause of moral rebirth in
our decaying society. They should become the vanguards of change;
those who will demand for good governance and accountability from
their leaders. They should avoid praise-singing corrupt leaders in
exchange for peanuts. I urge you all to eschew all kinds of
immoralities, because they have the potential to truncate your
evergreen ambitions in life,” he said.

The Lagos-based philanthropist, said one of his philosophy in
life is to always identify and share his wealth with the needy,
poor and less privilege in the society. He appealed to rich Muslims
to give charity in order to tackle the problem of Al-Majiri,
insurgency, other violent crimes and poverty in the North.

The Dan Amanan Minna, called on government at all levels to
establish more skills acquisition centres to train idle youths in
vocational trades, pledging to contribute his quota to the growth
of the Emirate and Niger State, in general.

“As a notable, though recently-appointed traditional
title-holder, I want to assure His Royal Highness, Alh. Faruk
Bahago, and once again, pledge my commitment towards the progress
and development of Minna, and Niger State. I will use my wide
network to attract massive infrastructural development to the
Emirate, Insha Allah,” he assured.
