MARRIAGE
In Nigeria, if either party to an intended Act marriage, is
under twenty‐one (21) years of age, the written consent of the
father must be produced.
However, if the father is dead or of unsound mind or absent
from Nigeria, consent of the mother shall suffice, or if both be
dead or of unsound mind or absent from Nigeria, consent of the
guardian of such party shall suffice.
Consent shall not be required if he/she is a widower or
widow.
