There’s not a lot happening right now.

Look, it’s the international break. Bad times for Liverpool supporters.

It’s known for two things: the boredom of no club games, and
players getting injured. I would still argue there is value in, for
example, Scotland qualifying for their first major tournament in
two decades. But, apart from those fleeting moments, it feels like
a waste of time to many.

Usually this is where we get bad news about injuries and, oh,
they’re definitely coming. But here’s something relatively
positive. Curtis Jones scored his first goal for England Under 21s
and won the man of the match award for his efforts.

Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi provided a floating cross
for which he made a darting run into the box to get on the end of.
England dominated the proceedings against Andorra for the most part
and Jones was a key part of this.

As the defensive injuries come thick and fast for Liverpool, it
feels likely that midfielders will drop back and open up minutes in
the middle of the park for Jones. He’s not as exciting as some
players, but it’s clear we’re talking about a serious talent here,
and someone we could hope will play regularly at Anfield for many
years to come.

Keep up the good work, Curtis.
