Gbajabiamila’s Security Aide Allegedly Shoots, Kills Newspaper Vendor In Abuja

A yet to be named police operative attached to the convoy of the
House of Representatives’ Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila allegedly shot
a newspaper vendor, Elechi Emmanuel near the Federal Secretariat in
Abuja.

It was gathered that the vendors upon sighting the Speaker’s
convoy gathered and walked toward the speaker’s car in an attempt
to hail him but one of the policemen was said to have shot at them
with the bullet hitting one of them in the head.

In a video recorded by some passersby and seen by our
currspondent, the victim was seen gasping for breath while another
vendor was making effort to revive him.

However, the vendor was said to have died later at the National
hospital where he was taken for emergency treatment.

Attempts by our correspondent to get reaction from the Speaker’s
office were futile, as his Special Adviser on Media and publicity,
Mr. Lanre Lasisi did not answer his calls nor respond to the text
message sent to him as at the time of filing this report.
