Nigeria Needs Solid Institutions, Not Strong Men — Ozekhome, SAN

Human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has advised Nigeria to
build solid institutions instead of depending on strong men.

Ozekhome who spoke in an interview on Arise TV said the system
as it is now doesn’t allow room for the best brains to come
out.

According to him, “Nigeria will continue to be on a journey to
no destination like an aircraft without a compass if we think we
can make it right by having another person, for example, who will
be better than Buhari.

“What we need to build are strong institutions, not strong
men.

“We’ll (continue to) have weaker people because the system
itself is convulsive. It does not allow the best to come out. It
doesn’t allow the youths who have the brain to come out. It is a
system that is being dictated by money bagism and the elites who
have stolen our commonwealth and money through politics, who want
to use it again to corrode the system.”

Calling for a new constitution as the solution, Ozekhome said it
“will bring about a new dawn” adding that “it will take care of the
interest of the youths and women.”
