Both bodies reiterated and resolved to continue and intensify
their efforts to ensure that the objectives of the strike action
were met, and that the sacrifices of all stakeholders, particularly
lawyers will not be in vain.

TheNigerialawyer gathered that the purpose of the visit was to
brief the NBA, and to extend their appreciation for the unflinching
support as well as to seek for her further understanding and
continued cooperation for the strike action; and to further
strategize on the way forward in the fight for judiciary autonomy
having regards to the eerie silence from the Federal Government and
the Governors since the botched all stakeholders meeting on the
20th day of April, 2021 at the conference room of the Minister of
Labour, Chief Chris Ngige.

The understandings reached at the interactive meeting will
become evident in the coming days.

Recall that it’s been over 4 weeks that JUSUN embarked on the
nationwide strike. The reason for the strike to press home their
demand for financial autonomy for the judiciary.
