THE All Progressives Congress (APC) has submitted the name of Kabiru Masari to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its vice presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kabiru Faskari disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.
Faskari said Masari’s name has been forwarded to INEC as Bola Tinubu’s running mate.
Tinubu is the APC presidential candidate.
“Our vice presidential candidate is Kabiru Masari,” Faskari said.
However, there are reports that Masari is standing in as a ‘placeholder’ pending when the APC selects a substantive vice presidential candidate.
The need for a placeholder is to ensure that the party meets INEC’s deadline for submission of names of candidates for the 2023 general elections.
He was the Welfare Secretary of the APC under Oshiomhole (former national chairman of the party),” he said during the show on Friday. “He is a well-known politician in Kaduna State and his name has been submitted.”
