Babalakin and co, lawyers representing Redbrick Homes International Limited, Amen City Ltd, Ashlead Estates, and Ms Folasade Balogun, have refuted claims made by former director and politician Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi on social media.
Gbadamosi had asserted that Amen Estate and Amen Estate Phase 2 in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, were not only assets of Redbricks and Ashlead but also belonged to him.
In a statement dated September 19, 2024, the lawyers clarified that Gbadamosi had voluntarily relinquished his entire shareholding interests in the companies and resigned as a director in July 2021.
They supported their statement by publishing Gbadamosi’s letter of voluntary resignation dated July 1, 2021, and confirmed that his directorship resignations and shareholding relinquishment had been duly filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission and were available for public verification.
The lawyers stated, “Babatunde Gbadamosi voluntarily relinquished his entire shareholding interest in Redbricks and Ashlead and resigned his directorship in these companies as far back as July 2021 under a notarised legal instrument. He has no interest whatsoever in either the above companies or any of their assets that he listed, namely Amen Estate, Amen Estate 2, TIARA, Emerald Bay, Emerald Park and Amen City.”
This recent dispute follows a public notice issued by the management of Redbricks Homes in February 2022, which was published in Punch. The notice refuted claims that Gbadamosi, a full-time politician, was associated with Redbrick Homes International Ltd and its real estate projects. It clarified that while Gbadamosi was once a sleeping partner/shareholder without any financial investment and a director of Redbrick Homes International Ltd, he had voluntarily transferred his shares and resigned from the Board on July 1, 2021.
The public notice also confirmed that Folasade Balogun (formerly Folasade Gbadamosi) remains the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Redbrick Homes Intl Ltd, a position she has held since the company’s inception. Under her leadership, Redbrick Homes Intl Ltd has continued to deliver quality service to its customers uninterrupted.
The lawyers advised the public to ignore Gbadamosi’s claims and emphasized that the facts could be easily verified at the Corporate Affairs Commission.
