Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has taken the drastic step of deleting all pictures and videos from his Instagram page.
This action comes just 48 hours after a controversial audio recording was released by activist and social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
The audio recording allegedly reveals Bobrisky offering ₦15 million to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives to drop money laundering charges against him, supposedly helping him evade imprisonment at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos. In response to the allegations, Bobrisky took to social media on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, to deny the claims, stating that he had already served his jail term and did not bribe EFCC officers. He dismissed the recording, purportedly linked to the bribery allegations, calling it fake.
However, the situation has taken a more alarming turn, as Bobrisky hinted at contemplating suicide in a Facebook post on Thursday, September 26. In the post, he expressed his frustration with people attempting to belittle him, writing, “I have never in my life thought about suicide in my life but now is coming to my head seeing what human beings are doing to their fellow human just in the name you want to bring them down by force or because you don’t like them.”
Bobrisky further stated that he doesn’t need sympathy from anyone, except for his late parents, and questioned who would fight for him amidst the ongoing situation.
Actress Tonto Dike also weighed in on the matter, taking to social media to express her thoughts on the Bobrisky/VDM situation. She stated, “It’s the season of betrayal. The worst kind of people are those who secretly record you, even when no issue exists yet. Flee from such damaged souls.”
