The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has vowed to take swift action after a disturbing video surfaced allegedly showing a man, believed to be a lawyer and manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), verbally and physically assaulting his wife.
The CCTV footage, dated October 27, 2024, captures the couple in a heated argument over suspected infidelity. The man can be seen shouting, throwing objects, and threatening to smash his wife with a flower vase.
“I showed you the message and told you there was nothing between both of us. Are you unfortunate? I am warning you,” the man yelled. “If you do not call anybody you are a bastard. Are you crazy? Do you want me to lose my job?”
The woman appeals to her husband to restrain himself, warning him not to hit her in front of their children. “Be careful. You know the children are here. Whatever you do here the children are watching. Do not touch me. I will call my dad. I want to make you lose your job. Or it is the consequences of your immoral attitude?” she said.
Although the identities of the couple have not been independently confirmed, the incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many users calling for accountability and support for the woman.

In response to the video, the Lagos DSVA thanked the public for bringing it to their attention and promised a prompt investigation. “Thank you to everyone who has reached out or tagged us regarding this video. We appreciate your vigilance in bringing this to our attention. Now that we’re aware, we’re taking swift action to address the matter appropriately,” the agency tweeted.
Domestic violence remains a pervasive issue in Nigeria. According to a 2018 report by the Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey, 31% of ever-married women have experienced physical, sexual, or emotional violence by their current or most recent spouse or partner. Activists say more needs to be done to protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable.
The Lagos DSVA, established in 2021, is tasked with providing a holistic response to domestic and sexual violence in the state through prevention strategies, service provision, and policy advocacy. The agency runs a toll-free helpline and several shelters for survivors across the state.
As of press time, PWC Nigeria had not responded to requests for comment regarding the video and the alleged involvement of one of its managers. The incident remains under investigation.
