The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has taken a significant step towards ensuring an inclusive and accessible 2025 Annual General Conference by officially approving the conference fees during its ongoing National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Enugu.
The highly anticipated event, set to take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from August 23-30, 2025, was initially announced by NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, during his inaugural speech in August.
The NEC’s decision demonstrates the NBA’s commitment to fostering participation from lawyers at various stages of their careers by setting the fees based on years of practice. Young Lawyers (1-9 years post-call) can take advantage of the early bird registration fee of N40,000, available until May 31, 2025. This category reflects the NBA President’s earlier announcement of a 20% reduction in fees for young lawyers during his inaugural speech.
Lawyers with 10-19 years of experience post-call can benefit from the early bird fee of N75,000, matching the fee set for the 2024 conference. As a gesture of appreciation and recognition, Senior Lawyers (50 years post-call and 70 years old and above) will be granted free attendance to the conference.
