Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has presented the 2025 appropriation bill of ₦429,898,968,402.31 to the State House of Assembly on Monday.
The proposed budget reflects a 34% increase compared to the 2024 budget. Governor Kefas explained that the increase is a strategic move to position Taraba State for greater socio-economic development.
The budget breakdown shows that capital expenditure is set at ₦266.12 billion (61.9%), while recurrent expenditure is ₦163.78 billion (38.1%).
In his address to lawmakers, Dr. Kefas stated, “This budget is a crucial component of the Taraba Development Master Plan, our comprehensive framework for strategic growth. The plan emphasizes economic diversification, environmental sustainability, and institutional reforms to transform Taraba into a model state in Nigeria.”
He urged the lawmakers to support the proposal and collaborate on its effective implementation.
