Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa announced that the new High Court Complex, which is expected to be completed within 48 weeks, will be named after the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The announcement was made during the groundbreaking ceremony for the project, which Governor Aiyedatiwa hailed as a significant milestone for the state.
The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to improving the judicial system and providing a better working environment for judicial staff. The complex, which was conceptualized during Akeredolu’s administration, will feature modern amenities such as ceremonial and modular courts, a registry, library, exhibition space, utility building, and parking facilities.
Governor Aiyedatiwa pointed out that since the creation of Ondo State in 1976, no such project had been undertaken, making this a historic moment. Despite the financial challenges faced by the state, he stressed that the project was a priority to support the judiciary and enhance the delivery of justice in Ondo State.
The Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, commended the project, stating that it has the potential to elevate the state’s judiciary to international standards.
