The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) has announced the launch of its Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, designed to provide accessible conflict resolution services outside traditional court systems.
According to Ruth O. Emethilue, an administrator with the institute, the platform allows users to file and resolve disputes remotely “from the comfort of their own home or office.”
“Our platform connects users with experienced mediators and arbitrators who will guide them through a fair and impartial process,” Emethilue stated in the announcement.
The ODR system is reportedly equipped to handle various types of conflicts including commercial disagreements, personal disputes, family matters, contract disputes, consumer issues, and property conflicts.
Key features of the platform include location-independent access, expedited resolution timeframes, professional dispute resolution experts, and confidential handling of all submitted information.
Interested parties can access the service through the institute’s website at www.odr.icmcng.org, where they can file cases and begin the resolution process.
The ICMC positions this digital solution as an alternative to “lengthy court proceedings or complicated logistics” typically associated with traditional dispute resolution methods.
