Financial technology company PiggyVest says it has attracted more than nine million Nigerians to its savings and investment services as it expands products aimed at households and small businesses.
Co founder and chief executive Somto Ifezue disclosed the figure during an Open House event in Lagos, saying the company’s tools were designed to encourage planned saving and reduce impulsive spending. The number is a company claim and should not be interpreted as nine million independently verified active investors.
Chief marketing officer Joshua Chibueze said the business wanted to deepen its presence in Nigerian households. Chief operating officer Odunayo Eweniyi outlined new offerings for children’s savings, joint accounts and business cash management, alongside a refreshed mobile application.
The company also announced N10 million in awards involving EsteBare Limited, Backel Food Services Limited and Pemnia Wellness. The account supplied did not specify how the total was allocated among the recipients.
