Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Dr. Oladipupo Adebutu, has expressed concern over the omission of his name from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s published list of candidates for the 2027 governorship election.
In a statement addressed to residents of the state, Adebutu assured supporters that there was no cause for alarm, insisting that he remains the duly elected PDP candidate.
He said he completed his party registration within the stipulated period and submitted all required documentation to INEC before the deadline.
Adebutu further stated that the PDP governorship primary election that produced him as candidate was conducted in the presence of INEC officials, who observed and verified the process.
The former lawmaker alleged that the circumstances surrounding the omission raised concerns, particularly because candidates of the party for other elective positions reportedly appeared on the electoral body’s published lists.
He noted that the Ogun PDP had accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of exerting undue pressure on INEC and vowed to pursue all lawful channels to ensure due process is followed.
Adebutu called on party members and supporters to remain calm, assuring them that efforts were underway to resolve the issue.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP and his gubernatorial ambition, insisting that the party’s vision for Ogun State remains unchanged despite the setback.
