The military commander of the Taliban, Sabir Kochi, was killed on July 3 by a U.S. drone strike, according to the Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium.
On Twitter, some were calling Sochi a “martyred hero.” According to Middle East Press, this wasn’t the first drone attack against the “Sabir Kochi” insurgent group. In 2015, drone strikes were ramped up in Nangarhar province after ISIS emerged in Afghanistan, and four insurgents with Kochi’s group were killed, said Middle East Press. ISIS loyalists executed three fighters in that district on the same weekend in which Sochi was killed, as the U.S. and Afghan forces step up attacks against the Islamic State, said Khaama Press.
Terror Monitor, a group that tracks ISIS and Taliban activity, also posted this propaganda photo of Kochi.
However, in February, Terror Monitor said Sochi was leading the fight in one district against the Islamic State, and others on Twitter also questioned why the U.S. would want to kill a commander fighting against ISIS.
The Taghut of USA martyred Taliban commander Sabir kochi in a coward drone strike. wonder who will celebrate more Baghdadi or Obama?
