Liquidity crisis consumes Skye Bank’s Chairman, CEO
The liquidity crisis ravaging the banking industry consumed its first set of victims, yesterday, with the resignation of 12 directors of Skye Bank Plc, including the Chairman, Dr. Olatunde Ayeni, and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Timothy Oguntayo. The CBN also, yesterday, announced the appointment of Mr. M.K. Ahmad and Mr. Tokunbo Abiru as the new Chairman and Chief Executive of the bank, respectively.
The directors of Skye Bank sacked alongside Ayeni and Oguntayo include three executive directors and seven non-executive directors. The executive directors are Mrs. Amaka Onwughalu, Deputy Managing Director; Mr. Dotun Adeniyi, Mrs Ibiye Ekong. President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Maikanti Baru as new Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.
He also approved the composition of the board of the corporation, which is provided for under Section 1(2) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Act of 1997, as amended. I’ll deal with those opposing anti-graft war, says Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said he knew the appropriate ways to deal with those opposing his ongoing anti-corruption war.

MTN announces management changes
MTN has announced the appointment of Stephen van Coller as Vice President of Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions, effective October 1.
Stephen will be the fourth Vice President of the Group.
Brett Goschen, the Group CFO, will be leaving MTN effective September 30, to pursue other interests. US Won’t Allow Nigeria’s Stolen Fund Laundered through Its Bank, Says Ambassador
The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to assist Nigeria fight corruption and ensure that no stolen funds are laundered through its banking system.
Entwistle stated this at the 240th US Independence anniversary celebration cocktail party in Abuja.

Court threatens INEC boss with contempt over Anambra PDP
The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu will be arrested if he fails to appear at a Federal High Court in Abuja to answer to a contempt charge.
