Sen. Ted Cruz’s wife had to be escorted from the GOP convention after Trump supporters began to approach her. Her husband had just delivered a speech in which he didn’t formally endorse the Republican nominee for president, something that attracted the ire of Governor Chris Christie.
Ex-Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli told ABC News that Heidi Cruz was brought out because “Trump folks were physically approaching.” Republican news site RedState says that the treatment of Heidi Cruz was an example of “Kiss the ring or pay the price.”
The clip was first uploaded to Twitter by Richmond Times-Dispatch reporter Graham Moomaw. While CNN’s Manu Raju tweeted that Cuccinelli said, “all the people physically approaching her, berating her.” Raju later said that Trump fans yelled, “Goldman Sachs” at Heidi.
