There is palpable anxiety among Nigerians over whether it’s football contingent to the Rio Olympics, the Dream Team, will be in a good shape to face Japan in their opening Mach.
The team left Jackson Hatfield International Airport, Atlanta, United States on Thursday for Manaus, Brazil aboard a Delta Airlines chartered flight after a mixup over flight issues.
They are scheduled to meet Japan in the early hours of Friday at 1am Nigerian time at Arena da Amazonia in Manamus.
Twenty years ago, Nigeria’s Olympic football team arrived late for the Atlanta Olympics but went on to win gold.
It is not known how they intend to brush off jet lag after the eight-hour flight and train adequately before the match.
More details shortly.
