Nigerians vented their anger on Thursday against President Muhammadu Buhari and his government for running Nigeria into recession, saying that he should return the economy to what it was when former President Goodluck Jonathan was in power with a bag of rice going for about N8000 and a litre of fuel selling for N86.
A bag of rice now sell for almost N25, 000 in some places while a litre of fuel at filling stations goes for about N145.
Reacting to news headlines on Nigeria Info FM in Lagos, Nigerians said the hardship under Buhari is too much and the cost of living has skyrocketed in the past 15 months.
They asked Mr. Buhari to stop claiming and solve problems or extend his complaints to the colonial era.
The arch-bishop of Sokoto, Bishop Matthew Kukah told newsmen on Wednesday that President Buhari should stop agonising and solve problems. The fiery clergy man said President Buhari should realise that Nigerians elected him not for yesterday’s complaints but to solve today’s problems.
