Boko Haram killers have beheaded at least 16 people in Cameroon, including three women, a prominent Cameroonian newspaper reported on Sunday morning.
L’Oeil du Sahel said the corpses of those beheaded were found in a locality called Gnam-Gnam, about ten kilometres from the famous park of Waza in the country’s far north.
They were found on Saturday evening, the newspaper said.
Boko Haram has launched a series of deadly attacks in Cameroon since December, killing many civilians and military officers in spasms of violence that seemed to put a lie to claims that the IS partners in West Africa have been defeated.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari announced on December 24 that Camp Zero, known as the headquarters of Boko Haram in the Sambisa forest, had fallen. Mr. Buhari commended military officers for a work well done.
But violence has continued in Nigeria and Cameroon and dozens of people have been killed while many suicide bombers have blown themselves up.
