Sequel to the 2019 General Elections, the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has emerged as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum.
Fayose’s appointment was announced in Abuja, late Thursday night, by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson.
Fayose hereby succeeds the Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko.
The meeting where Fayose’s appointment was announced, took place at his personal residence, in Asokoro, Abuja.
In his acceptance speech, Fayose who succeeded Governor Olusegun Mimiko, described his election as a call to service, and promised not to let the party down as the Chairman of the Forum.
Fayose, said that he was out to pull down the wall of ‘Jericho’ surrounding the party, with a promise to embark on total mobilization of party members nationwide, ahead of the 2019 General Elections.
He assured that the PDP would work very hard to reclaim its lost States, and as well, form the government at the centre, come 2019 .
Some leaders of the party, like the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin; and the Chairman of its National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, were in attendance.
