Rumer Willis has been added to the cast on this season of Empire. The actress and singer/songwriter plays Tory Ash, Jamal’s fellow patient and good friend in rehab. According to a March Variety article, Empire star Jussie Smollett has claimed at least partial responsibility for Willis’s casting. At the Season 3 spring premiere event, he revealed that he came across an Instagram video of her singing an Amy Winehouse song and immediately bought it to the show’s producers. “She’s just dope,” dished Smollett. “I say this all the time; I’m not going to take credit for this, but…” Other stars showing up this season include Nia Long, Taye Diggs, Eva Longoria, and Phylicia Rashad.
